Weather in Manado!

Check out the weather in Manado below with our comprehensive Manado weather forecast.

Like the rest of Indonesia, North Sulawesi too has an equatorial type of climate with just two seasons. Beginning in September, cool winds from the northwest gather moisture while travelling over the South China Sea and reach the Sulawesi Sea around November. The temperature in North Sulawesi remains more or less constant at around 29 ° C to 32 ° C all year through.

Dry Season

The dry season extends from April to November. The winds blow from the southeast and the sea is quite calm. Bright sun and clear blue skies are almost guaranteed during this season. The clear weather offers an excellent visibility of 20 to 25 metres in Bunaken and 10 to 15 metres in Lembeh.

Wet/Rainy Season

This season extends from December to March. Cool winds from the northwest often cause heavy rains and rough seas in February. The rain and wind reduce visibility to about 10 to 15 metres in Bunaken and 5 to 10 metres in Lembeh.

Monsoons in Manado are not the typical monsoons experienced in the rest of Asia. In fact, it scarcely rains during the day. The most common features of the monsoons here are sunny mornings with clear blue skies, cloudy afternoons and rain during the night. The rain stops around dawn. There is occasional rain in the afternoon but it seldom lasts long.
