Tangkoko Adventures

Animals that can be found in Tangkoko among other birds are Manguni (Otus manadensis) which is the symbol of the Minahasa region; there are seven species of Manguni. According to the guide in Tangkoko, these birds come out in the night and share the habitat with the other night animals such as tarsius, bats and Sulawesi civet.

In addition to monkeys and black South tangkasi or tarsius, the other typical Sulawesi animals that are easily found in this area are the cuscus bear (Ailurops ursinus) and cuscus dwarf (Strigocuscus celebensis), julang sulawesi rangkong or birds (Rhyticeros cassidix), and kangkareng (Penelopides exarrhatus). Tarsius, one of the smallest monkeys in the world which can be found in this reserve usually come out on the evening to night.

In this rare animal's conservation area, you can go through the main gate of post I where you can enjoy the beach and then, you can reach the post II by car. Before you reach the Post II, you will see the tropical secondary forest, where there are trees and some pioneer plants such as betel forest, wood and binunga flowers.
